Stipanović European champion! |
|
For the last two week most European dinghy sailors were in Helsinki at the 2011 Open Europeans. SandiEquipe members & sandiLiners obtained two outstanding & some very good results.
A special mention goes to "our" Croatian equipe sailors Tonči Stipanović, who managed to defend the european title in laser & Ivan Kljaković Gašpić who was stopped from winning his third consecutive finn class European title on the last day, after an outstanding performance by the new European champion Giles Scott (GBR).
After winning his second consecutive title Stipanović said: "I won also last year, but this time it feels a bit different, since I've had a lot of friends here to support me. I sailed well and did my best during the whole competition. We now have a tough race among the Croatian team for the places in the upcoming Olympic Games. The whole national team performed well here, hopefully I will be able to earn my spot in London". We cheer for you Tonči!
Kljakovic Gašpić said, "Giles had a really good week, congratulations to him because he was the perfect sailor, sailing hard and today, I was a just little below his level, but overall it was really good sailing from both of us this week."
SandiEquipe member & two times Olympic medalist in laser class Vasilij Žbogar (SLO) is adjusting very well to the finn class, this time he finished 6th, while sandiLiners Deniss Karpak (EST) & Jonathan Lobert (FRA) took the 11th & 13th position.

Sandiline got new sailing and and kayak distributors in Finland
We have two new partners in Finland we would like to present. A few moths ago Natura Viva became our official distributor for kayaking gear and just few days ago we started official cooperation with Sailman/Northern Yachts Ltd. who is now our sailing gear distributor in Finland.
Sailman/Northern Yachts Ltd. is a company that imports and sells high quality sailing boats (monohulls and multihulls) and sailing gear throughout Finland. Their motto is: "The whole family’s sailing store."
According to the founder and owner Matti Helenius the company’s mission is to offer people enjoyable sailing experiences with different boat types like a normal keel boat for cruising, or a fast and stable trimaran for fast sailing and competition.
"Beside boats Sailman is offering technical sailing gear to active people who are racing or just cruising and having fun with their boats. Sailing gear will give everyone protection and comfort whether it is warm and sunny, or cold and rainy. They can totally rely on good quality clothing designed exactly to weathers and conditions out in the lake or sea." says Helenius.
After testing our gear the owner and manager of Natura Viva Ilkka Lariola wrote "Our first hand experience of your products is very positive and we believe that you are really working hard to make the best possible gear for your sports. Our goal is to be the best possible partner for you in Finland."
Beside selling kayak gear Natura Viva offers a wide range of outdoors services for individuals and for enterprises. These include sea and lake kayaking and canoeing, whitewater kayaking, hiking and trekking, paragliding, mountain biking and adventure tours.
At sandiline we are sure that these new cooperations will be sucessfull and our Finnish costumers will be happy with our goods and the service provided by our partners. |

Second consecutive European title for Bambi! |
Ivan Kljaković Gaspić (CRO) is the 2010 European finn class champion
Not many athletes get the chance to win an important title at home. For Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (CRO) that dream came true last Sunday for he became 2010 Finn European Champion! In addition to this Bambi successfully defended his 2009 Finn European title.
Here what he said after the win:
"Winning the event at home is I think impressive because it's one thing to win a race somewhere else as there is always some pressure, but it's just on you. But back home you have thousands of people looking at you and everyone's interested in this. All my friends are calling, sending texts and emails. Everyone means well but you feel big pressure and it's not so easy. But I managed to stay cool with good consistent sailing and not to many stupid mistakes and in the end I did really well and am so proud I won another Europeans back home because this was really big pressure event for me.”
The only other sandiLiner in the finals was Jonathan Lobert who mistakenly assumed that Oscar flag for free pumping was up & he got the second yellow flag so had to retire but still managed to finish 8th.
The two Slovenian sandiEquipe members finished 16th (Vasilij Žbogar) & 35th (Gašper Vinčec) while our other two sandiLiners Deniss Karpak (EST) & our new entry Giorgio Poggi (ITA) finished 25th & 18th. |
