Deniss Karpak won the Kiel week for the second consecutive time

Our sandiliner from Estonia has won the Eurosaf Champions Cup regatta in Kiel, Germany for the second consecutive time.

“It was a great, well organised event. Hard weather with ultra strong winds in the 2nd and 3rd day made it difficult for race committee. I was sailing well in light winds and won the medal race. I couldn’t wished for more. That’s simply great! Second gold at Kiel Week!” told Karpak after the prize giving ceremony.

We can’t be prouder to support sailors like Deniss.

Laser european championship in Split

10476370 10152625540144059 1334624740 nIt’s been 11 years ago in 2003 when our Vasilij Žbogar won his first big championship. It was european laser championship in Split, Croatia. This year Split, Croatian second largest city, again hosted best european laser sailors.

The whole event was held in light winds that enabled sailors to sail just 5 out of 10 planned races. This year our sailors unfortunately hasn’t stood on the podium, yet young Croatian Filip Jurišič finished in the great 8th place, the result that shows that he will soon be one of the worlds best sailors. He has commented the race: “Sailing conditions were very difficult, but I showed that I can fight at the top of world competition. I can say that I am very happy and proud of my result which is also a big motivation for further work.”

In laser radial women class, Sandiliner Mathilde de Kerangat finished in the 12th place. Her result would have been much better, if she hadn’t had two bad races …

This event was for majority of the fleet just a test regatta before world championship this September in Spain, where the first olympic tickets will be rewarded.
